On behalf of Sam Huff and our cook team at Pork University a.k.a. Pork U, it is my privilege to invite you to attend one of our nationally recognized BBQ cooking classes featured on Georgia Public Broadcasting’s (GPB) Georgia Traveler, Garden & Gun, and numerous other publications. 2017 marks our 13th year of our Pork U BBQ cooking classes. We have taught hundreds of students from all over the US, Canada, and the UK how to improve their cooking skills on the smoker and the grill.
Over the past 13 years, Sam Huff (recovering attorney turned Pitmaster, Chef, and restauranteur) has been the visionary and primary instructor for the classes, while Pitmasters, Dale Thornton, Charles Wells, Todd Houghton, and Ken Holland developed the cook timelines, much of the content for the classes, and along with a dedicated team of former students and volunteers have done all the cooking over the years.
We have geared up for an exciting 2017 season with some new cookers and grills added to our current plethora of equipment at Barbecue Village. We cook on a very wide assortment of equipment, just to name a few: Lodge cast iron kettles on an old fashioned in-ground fire pit, Weber Grills, Lang Smokers, Stump Smokers, Backwoods Smokers, Big Green Eggs, Primo Grills, La Caja China Roasters, Jimmy Maxey Smokers, Wood-fired Grills, and Southern Pride Smokers.
Private and Corporate Classes
We offer private classes for your team of gridiron grill masters. If your company is looking for an opportunity for an exciting team-building treat where you get to play with fire and smoke meat all day, then you’re in the right place. We offer half day and full day classes that are tailored to your group.
We’ve hosted private classes for teams that flew their employees in to Cobb County International Airport/McCollum Field on their private company jets, classes in the backwoods of the North GA mountains, and overlooking the Savannah River. We won’t say no to taking one of our classes on the road to your private beach-side resort or mountain top hideaway.

2017 Pork U Class Dates (We’re Live)
Here are the class dates for our Kennesaw, GA location at Witt’s End Farm.
Be sure to eat light on the day before your class. We begin the day with an old fashioned chuck wagon breakfast. We provide lunch and a Carnivore’s Feast at the end of the day of all the food we prepare during the day. You will also be sampling lots of appetizers that we prepare in the class throughout the day.
Check-in begins at 8:00 AM

Pork U Class Registration
Registration for classes opens on March 1, 2017. Set your calendars to register early because due to high demand, the classes have sold out for the season in a matter of hours the past two years.
We are also looking forward to seeing a number of returning graduates at our “Pork U Behind the Scenes” class within each class where instruction, knowledge, application, and timelines get real. And nobody eats better.
